Videos of Modern Hawaii
Welcome to our collection of videos of Modern Hawaii. Things were simpler back in the plantation days, when the fat-cat scions of the missionary firms ruled the roost of a stolen kingdom. Statehood complicated their rosy assumptions, when veterans of the 442nd returned from the war to take up the Democratic challenge to the white Republic oligarchy. Then, 30-odd years later, the modern-day Hawaiian sovereignty movement arose to re-claim its patrimony. In a sense, things are coming around full-circle, with the dispossessed rising up to challenge an existing order that has excluded them.

Uwene ke kolopa. – The crow-bar rings sharply. (A successful effort.)
