Videos of the Big Island
Welcome to our collection of videos of the Big Island. None better named, the Big Island is indeed big, on a scale that disorients. It is home to both the tallest mountain (Mauna Kea, as measured from its base on the ocean floor) and the biggest mountain on earth, Mauna Loa. Kilauea volcano has, for the past 30-some years, staged the longest-running eruption anywhere. But the superlatives of its charms dwarf those of its geology.

Hele poala i ke anu o Waimea. – Going in a circle in the cold of Waimea. (An allusion to wandering around and around, as in the fog of Waimea.)
